Sustainability information from RAG
In February 2025, the European Commission presented the so-called Omnibus Initiative, which, among other things, provides for higher thresholds for sustainability reporting requirements for EU companies. As things stand at present, RAG Austria AG will continue to be exempt from mandatory reporting, as has been the case up to now.
Regardless of this, we are continuing on our path and are committed to transparent and responsible communication of our sustainability activities. With the information presented here, we reaffirm our goal of anchoring sustainable management in our corporate processes and providing our stakeholders with insights into our progress.

Report planning and prospects
The publication of RAG Austria AG's next official voluntary sustainability report for the 2025 financial year with reference figures for 2024 is planned for the first half of 2026. As things stand at present, we are guided by the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for Non-Listed SMEs (VSME), which in future is to serve as the basis – after adjustment where necessary – for a voluntary standard for all companies no longer subject to reporting requirements under the Omnibus Directive.

Internal test run
Assuming that we will be required to submit a sustainability report in accordance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) from the 2025 financial year onwards, we conducted an internal test run for the 2024 financial year. This was implemented with considerable effort and taking into account the extensive requirements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). A key element was the performance of a "double materiality analysis," for which we drew on external expertise. At the same time, we built up internal expertise in sustainability reporting and realigned the organisational structure in the area of sustainability – as a basis for future reporting requirements and systematic sustainability management.
Sustainability reports
RAG Austria AG voluntarily published its first sustainability report in 2018. Further reports were subsequently published every two years for the 2019/20 and 2021/22 financial years, which were also validated by an external agency.
